Pats QB, Tom Brady Slams Soda and Cereal

After all New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has been through these past few months, youd think hed want to keep a low (off-field) profile and focus on winning another championship. Apparently, the four-time MVP couldnt hold back during a recent interview on the Dennis & Callahan Morning Show, on Bostons WEEI sports station.

During the interview, Brady defended his buddy and personal trainer Alex Guerrero from a recent article that accused him of being a “glorified snake-oil salesman.”

“You probably go out and drink Coca-Cola and think, ‘Oh yeah, that’s no problem.’ Why, because they pay lots of money for advertisements that think that you should drink Coca-Cola for a living? No. I totally disagree with that. And when people do that, I think that’s quackery. And just the fact that they can sell that to kids? That’s poison for kids,” said the Pats star QB.

After singling out Coca-Cola, he then turned his dagger towards the good folks at Kelloggs and one of their top-selling breakfast cereals. “I think we’ve been lied to by a lot of food companies over the years. But we still do it. That’s just America. We believe that Frosted Flakes is a food... You just keep eating those things, and you keep wondering why we have just incredible rates of disease in our country. No one thinks it has anything to do with what we put in our body."

Brady went on to discuss the benefits of a veggie-heavy acid-alkaline diet and the positive effect it has on his athletic performance. And while most would agree that Touchdown Tom makes some valid points when it comes to nutrition, dont expect to see him on a Kelloggs cereal box anytime soon.
